Sony XDCAM PDW-700 24p* Software Option - $1,500 Rebate |

Sony has announced that the highly anticipated 24p* software option for their XDCAM PDW-700 HD422 camcorder is scheduled to be available June 2009. In addition, Sony announced that qualifying PDW-700 purchases between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009 will be eligible to receive a $1,500 rebate towards the 24p software option, CBKZ-FC02 estimated list price $4,500. This option along with other flexible add-ons such as the DWR-S01D Dual Channel Digital Wireless Receiver, make the PDW-700 an extremely powerful and versatile camera system.

NOW AVAILABLE - Panasonic Pro Plasma Dual Link HD-SDI Board
Panasonic has announced the introduction of a new TY-FB11DHD Dual Link HD-SDI Plug-in Board. The TY-FB11DHD, which is compatible with their 11-Series PF Full HD models, supports Dual Link HD-SDI (meets SMPTE 372M standard) and HD-SDI (meets
SMPTE 292M standard).
Product Highlights:
- Supports Dual Link HD-SDI (meets SMPTE 372M standard), and HD-SDI (meets SMPTE 292M standard)
- Support for DCI 2K 2048x1080 input
- Supports SMPTE embedded PCM audio
- Two active looping HD-SDI inputs configurable as two single-links or one Dual Link
NOTE: The TY-FB11DHD is compatible only with the PF 11-Series Full HD displays, when installed in slots 1 or 2, and supports component digital high definition input signals only. It is not backward compatible with 10-Series or prior product lines due to hardware incompatibilities.

Tektronix has just released updates to several of their products enabling new features and capabilities. The WFM/WVR5000/4000 update includes:

TandemVu™ Display capability

Broadcast operators can personalize the screen display based on their individual application needs

Waveform and Lightning displays to be overlaid and positioned flexibly in full screen mode

Each trace can be magnified individually

Thumbnail picture display can turned on or off as required

Screen displays can also be captured and stored as Presets or captured in bitmap file format on a USB storage device

The WFMxx20 family update includes:

Option 3G and Option JIT address the growing need for monitoring of 3G Single Link SDI formats in Post Production and Content Delivery.

Option 3G provides all the basic monitoring capability normally associated with SD/HD SDI including Picture, Waveform, Vector, Gamut, Audio, Error Logging and Session Displays.

Option JIT enables the user to effectively monitor jitter components in the 3G Single Link Environments. The built in 3G Test Loop Generator provides 100% Color Bars, 75% Color Bars and Pathogenic Test Patterns.

Dolby E and Dolby D audio monitoring capabilities (Option DDE) can now be added to the WFM7020 waveform monitor or the WVR7020 waveform rasterizer.

PMW-EX1 Feature Enhancement - Now Available
A new feature enhancement upgrade is available (at a nominal fee) for the PMW-EX1 camcorder. This upgrade to early PMW-EX1 camcorders enables the following major enhancements:
• Record capability to the new larger capacity 32GB SxS memory card
• Full functionality with the PHU-60K hard disk unit
• Units with a serial number above 107400 do not need this upgrade

Sony BVM CRT Monitor Trade-In Program
Sony has just announced a new limited-time trade-in program that applies to customers who own discontinued 24” and 32” BVM CRT monitors. The trade-in program is available through March 26th, 2009 and grants customers a trade-in allowance that will be applied as a rebate on the purchase of a new Sony BVM-L230 monitor and accessories including the control panel and a HD-SDI/SDI card.
